Paris is the lively capital of France and home to some of the best French language schools. As a student looking to study French in Paris, be ready for the inconsistent weather, the busy streets and the gorgeous al fresco Parisian cafes. No matter where your school is located, you will likely be within a short commute of any iconic landmarks in this romantic capital.
Schools on this page have been selected based on client reviews from independent sites, popularity (research of annual student intake), and appeal to different student types and budgets. Poorly rated schools have been discarded.
Every language school on this page has been personally visited by me. I’ve inspected the classrooms, facilities, and spoken with students and staff. My reviews reflect my honest opinion. I never accept money from schools. If you book through a link on this site, LingoTraveller may earn a commission from LanguageCourse.net, and you’ll pay less than booking directly with the school. Win-win. Click on the schools to see my detailed review and YouTube video of each school visit.
1 L’Atelier 9 Paris Full Review

The good
- It is a very small school so all teachers and staff know the students personally and more intimately.
- A school focussed mainly on communication and encouraging speaking
- The school is inclusive and students are free to be themselves at this school.
- No extra fees (no admin or course material fees)
The bad
- Very underdeveloped technologically.
- Very limited course range.
- They are not officially accredited.
Ideal for introverted students that want a school with a family dynamic.
L’Atelier 9 is most definitely a unique school. It is located in a typical French apartment, in the trendy Faubourg-Montmartre Quarter.
I recommend this school to students aged 23+ who want to be in a fantastic location but also want to be in a homey, family environment with a small number of people they can get to know individually and personally.

The bad
- Change over between incoming students and graduating students can be quite hectic.
Ideal for students who want to mix with native French students.
Les ateliers FL is in the Batignolles district, an excellent location for exploring all of Paris. The school building is extremely large, with five different floors, but students from the French creative writing school share some of the floors.

The good
- Great on-site facilities.
- Students share the building with other students from different schools (networking opportunities)
The bad
- Limited range of courses.
Ideal for students who are passionate about giving back to a social cause.
Bayswater is just a quick walk from the Seine, on the Paris’ Left Bank. It is founded on the same values as other Bayswater schools and as such it is an excellent school for students seeking a community and who are passionate about social causes.
I recommend this school to young adults and mature adults who want to be in a fantastic location, in the hustle and bustle of Paris, and wanting to get involved in the community.
