Ideal for students who are passionate about giving back to a social cause.
Not ideal for students looking for a super modern and high-end school.
The good
- Great on-site facilities.
- Students share the building with other students from different schools (networking opportunities)
The bad
- Limited range of courses.
My overall take
As with all the other Bayswater schools I’ve visited, Bayswater Paris has the same foundation and values and is an excellent school for students seeking a community and who are passionate about social causes.
The communal areas are well-maintained, although a little outdated in some parts. These areas not only encourage students from Bayswater to befriend each other but students from the other 2 schools within the building also. Although there isn’t a cafeteria serving food on site, there are multiple microwaves and vending machines for students who either bring food from home or would prefer to buy a snack.
The lessons are interactive, and the teachers use activities to aid the student’s learning progression. Every Monday, there is an activity where a French movie is shown with French subtitles, or a small conference is given on a specific topic. On Tuesdays, communication workshops are held where students choose the topic. Wednesdays are study clubs where a teacher can help students improve with particular questions and comprehension; Thursdays are cultural activities, e.g., visiting an area in Paris or creative workshops. The bottom line is they provide a different activity. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
I recommend this school to young adults and mature adults who want to be in a fantastic location, in the hustle and bustle of Paris, and want to get involved in the school’s community.

Questions to school director
Me: “What sets your school apart from others in the city?“
School: “The location is one of the things the students praise the most. We are in the heart of Paris, close to everything, i.e. the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame cathedral, everything. Also, Bayswater is a social enterprise. It is very important as part of the Bayswater values to participate in the education of the less privileged.“
Me: “Is there a particular type of student for whom your school is especially suitable?
School: “No matter the student’s goal of learning French, whether it’s personal reasons for tourism or academic or professional purposes, any young adult or mature adult student would be happy in the school.”
Excerpts above from my conversation with Delphine Crevelle-Busson, Centre Director at Bayswater Paris.
School inspection report
Class rooms
Large classrooms, full sized tables, comfortable chairs. All classrooms have large windows with lots of light. There are two classrooms that convert into a library and computer rooms respectively.
Facilities
Two classrooms can be used as a library and computer room outside lesson time. Students have a lounge/cafeteria-style seating area with vending machines, microwaves, and an outdoor patio. The outdoor patio needs to be updated, but it is still widely used during the warmer months.
Surrounding area
The school is near the famous Latin Quarter and within walking distance of attractions such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Sainte-Chapelle, Saint Germain des Prés Church, the Louvre Museum and only a 2-minute walk to the closest metro station. Cafes, bakeries, and patisseries surround the area. A cafe that I HIGHLY recommend and is beloved by the students is Aux Merveilleux de Fred for the dreamiest, Merveilleux desserts.
Social activities

There is a good mix between academic and non-academic activities. From creative workshops (cooking or perfume making) to tutorials, Bayswater aims to provide unique activities that students wouldn’t commonly attend.

Why no Google or Facebook ratings? Schools may have requested Facebook, Google or Trustpilot reviews only from those students that previously gave positive after-course evaluations. I only trust ratings from independent booking platforms/agencies, that allow exclusively clients who booked via their platform to rate the schools. I have checked each of these sites above and they have no disproportional number of positive vs negative reviews.
